Testing and vaccination
Before getting to Vietnam
Passengers (excluding children under 2 years old) must have a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours by the time of entering Vietnam. The test result is certified by the valid authorities. For those who have been fully vaccinated (2 doses), you should prepare a Covid Vaccination Certificate (also called Proof of Vaccination or Covid Vaccine passport). Those who recovered from Covid in 6 months should have a Covid Recovery Certificate. Those who have not had enough vaccinations must have a confirmation of hotel reservation for a quarantine of 7 days at the minimum. All passengers need to complete a medical declaration.
After getting to Vietnam
It’s no need to perform a rapid Covid-19 test when you’re landing at the airports.
Quarantine regulations upon arrival
The fully vaccinated passengers and those who recovered from the illness in 6 months will self-monitor health at your place for 03 days from the date of entry. With the valid Covid Vaccination Certificate or the Covid Recovery Certificate, you do not need to quarantine since January 2022 and can visit Vietnam destinations during a 7-day tour. It’s planned to apply NO quarantine and restrictions from 15 March 2022; let’s wait and see.
Passengers who have not received the full dose of the vaccine or have not ever been vaccinated will be quarantined for 07 days from the date of entry. The test sample will be taken on the third and the seventh days. After the RT-PCR test result is negative, continue monitoring your health for 14 days from the date of entry. You will pay for your testing, medical quarantine, medical examination, and treatment if any. Also, you are allowed to take your domestic flights immediately after the international flights, which means no need to quarantine in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Whether you’re thinking about tourism, business trips, or family visit, it’s time to plan for your coming trips as the international flights to Vietnam has reopened. It’s time to travel through the air internationally!
