This itinerary is perfect for travelers seeking a more peaceful and authentic Halong Bay escape away from the tourist crowds.
Day 1: Hanoi – Bai Tu Long Bay – Cong Do – Cap La Island (L, D)
Your adventure begins early in the morning. Between 07:45 and 08:30, Swan Cruise’s comfortable shuttle bus picks you up directly from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. As you depart the city, the countryside of northern Vietnam unfolds before your eyes, offering glimpses of rice fields, rivers, and local villages. A short rest stop midway provides a chance to stretch and recharge.
Around 11:40, you’ll arrive at the Swan Cruise Halong Bay waiting lounge at Ha Long International Cruise Port. After a short relaxation period while the crew completes check-in procedures, a tender boat will escort you to your traditional wooden cruise vessel.
At 12:35, step aboard and enjoy a welcome drink while the crew provides a safety briefing and introduction to your itinerary. Then, check into your comfortable cabin and get ready for an exciting two days ahead.
At 13:00, savor a delicious Vietnamese set menu lunch while the boat glides deeper into the tranquil, less-visited waters of Bai Tu Long Bay. The scenery here is spectacular—limestone karsts rise dramatically from emerald-green waters, creating an awe-inspiring seascape.
By 15:00, you’ll reach the pristine Cap La Island, an area known for its secluded beauty and towering karst formations. Here, guests can kayak through hidden lagoons, swim in the calm bay, or simply bask in the serenity of nature.
Return to the boat around 17:30, where the Sunset Party awaits on the sundeck. Sip a cocktail or enjoy fresh fruits while the boat cruises to its overnight anchor point. As the sun dips below the horizon, enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration, where you’ll learn how to make Nem Cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls)—a dish once taught by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay himself. Or, take part in fruit and vegetable carving to express your creative side.
At 19:00, a sumptuous dinner is served onboard, offering a variety of local flavors. Post-dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy. Play traditional Vietnamese puzzle games, challenge friends in board games, try your hand at squid fishing, or simply relax under the stars with a drink in hand. The peaceful night over Bai Tu Long Bay is truly something to remember.
Day 2: Bai Tu Long Bay – Thien Canh Son Cave – Hanoi (B, L)
Begin the new day early with a Tai Chi session at 06:30 on the sundeck. It’s a refreshing way to awaken your senses while soaking in the sunrise over the bay. Alternatively, enjoy the morning ambiance with a cup of Vietnamese coffee or tea.
At 07:00, a light Western-style breakfast is served to prepare you for the final exploration of your trip.
By 08:00, set off to visit the Thien Canh Son Cave, a hidden gem nestled in a small limestone island. This cave features stunning stalactites and stalagmites illuminated by natural light, offering a magical underground world to discover. A short hike brings you to the entrance, and once inside, you’ll marvel at nature’s intricate formations.
Return to the boat around 09:00, where you’ll have time to freshen up and complete your packing.
At 10:00, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch as the boat starts its journey back to the harbor, cruising slowly past more of the bay’s unique limestone formations.
Around 11:00 – 11:30, you’ll disembark at Halong International Cruise Port. Then board the Swan Cruise shuttle bus for the return journey to Hanoi.
By approximately 15:30, you’ll arrive back in Hanoi, marking the end of Swan Cruise Halong Bay 2 days 1 night journey.
